About
An Independent Hip Hop Hub
This blog is dedicated to the artists, stories, and sounds thriving outside the mainstream. We cover underground, independent, alternative, and classic hip hop through interviews, features, reviews, drops, and exclusive releases. We support hip hop everywhere, with a special focus on what’s going on in Omaha and the Midwest. We may not have a coast, but we’re leaving our mark.
Hip hop is a revolution. It’s poetic self-expression, community, resistance, and the freedom to challenge what’s normal or expected. We celebrate independent rhyme sayers who create on their own terms. These artists are willing to put their relationships, struggles, identities, ideas, and humanity into their music without conforming to someone else’s agenda.
In essence, Say Hey There Music is about storytelling—the people behind the music, the culture that shapes it, and the stories worth hearing.
Speak Up. Be Heard.
About Say Hey There
Say Hey There began in 2012 with a simple belief: the best stories aren’t always the loudest ones. What started as an independent hip hop blog built to amplify underground artists and voices outside the mainstream eventually grew into something bigger. That same passion for storytelling, creative expression, and helping people Speak Up. Be Heard. eventually expanded beyond music, with Say Hey There growing into a creative studio that partners with nonprofits and mission-driven organizations to tell stories, build brands, and create meaningful change.
Different worlds, same philosophy: amplify voices, challenge the status quo, and show up authentically.
