“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.” – Barack Obama
In the wake of escalating violence happening around the country and in the heartbeat of our own city, it’s time to lessen the separation between the people, law enforcement, and community organizations and come together to stand for peace.
Join Omaha’s most prominent emcees, DJs, artists, and leaders at the Hip Hop for Peace rally and benefit on Saturday, May 16 at The 402 in Benson. We will invite family members of victims who have fallen to gang violence to attend as our honored guests.
Knowledge is power, and now is the time to act and open up the dialogue. Let’s join together and take a stand in the name of art, life, education, and hope for a better tomorrow.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit the nonprofit Black Police Officers Association’s mission to enhance the quality of life in the black community, promote diversity within the police department, and foster a stronger relationship between the community and law enforcement.
