Listen Now: Time’s Feature on “Returning to Ashes,” Odd Dawn’s Sludgy, Electro Hip Hop Album

Check out “Dead Phoenix Down” by producer Odd Dawn featuring Midwest-based emcee and producer Time.  The track is featured on Odd Dawn’s album Returning to Ashes, which is available for a name-your-price download on Bandcamp. The mostly-instrumental album is sludgy, interesting, and oddly soothing for electro hip hop. The vibe is dark, but its darkness is often presented with acceptance and a “circle of life” mentality. It’s definitely different and worth the space in your digital library.

As for this particular track’s content, Time tells us the song takes an existential look at life while mixing in some philosophy from Final Fantasy.
